Pyrrosia lingua var. obake nana

Dwarf Crested Tongue Fern

Pict of Obake and Obake nana for size comparison

Dwarf Crested Pyrrosia , P. lingua var obake nana (sometimes called cristata) is easy to cultivate. I have maintained this variety for many years and have never experienced any problems with its care. It is a good grower, but slower to fill out a basket than the Large Crested form, This cultivar produces  much smaller fronds, half the size of Obake. At maturity, individual leaves can be 9-10 inches long and 5-6 inches across at the crest. The blades are thinner than other forms of lingua. The fronds are very symmetrical with no twisting of the blade or crested portion. It is mostly sterile and  rarely produces fertile fronds with spores.

Single division well established plant $40
